I'm BACK!!!!!
Back at Smart,back to the music,back at the mic.
So much has happened since I last wrote in this diary that I don't even know where to start.I'm just going to have to jump right in to the middle of things and forget about the other stuff for the time being!!!
The most pertintent piece of news would be the fact that I underwent surgery on my right vocal chord a few months ago and after an entire week of complete silence, some months of gentle rehabilitation and some unbelievably bizarre vocal exercises,I've been given the all clear to sing again.So here I am.............ready to go...... my first week back in the saddle with all engines firing.Fucking A!
God I got so scared when I began to lose my voice during the last tour.It's a freaky experience to suddenly lose the ability to do the one thing you've been able to do well your entire life without ever having to think or worry about it.To lose control over your voice when you are a proffesional singer is like an athelete breaking an arm or a leg except you have no physical evidence of your injury.It totally screwed with my head.
Anyway...enough said.I found myself a wonderful doctor who fixed me up good and I'm just grateful to have my voice back. When I sang for the first time after my surgery it was a profound, life affirming moment.I felt my mouth all bursting and radiant with sound and I felt so alive and happy. It was incredible!!!!
Oh life can be so good sometimes!!!

Tuesday 5th
Can't quite get into the swing of this diary yet.Don't quite know what to say or how to say it.
It's like when you get together with a old friend you haven't seen for a while and there's just so much to catch up on that you both sit there in silence each internalizing the fear that you will never again be able to remember why you liked each other so much in the first place.
Very weird.


Wednesday 6th
Worked on a song called " My bad boyfriend" today that's all sort of hoochie-mama shutter-slut stuff.It could be pretty cool.Unfortunately I have a hideous period which is taking some of the joy out of the day but c'est la vie. Sometimes it's no fun being a girl whatsoever although ....on the other hand.......sometimes it's super duper fun coz people send you delicious girly gifts that make your heart swell with joy!!!
For example,a big thankyou to emlala75 for the handbag that arrived today.It was super sweet of you to send it.I shall strut downtown with it under my arm and wallow in admiring glances.
And whilst we're talking about gifts.............oh my god.........the hugest box has just been delivered to the studio,stuffed to the brim with Godiva chocolates and the most darling music box courtesy of a Mr Bill HEffner.Thankyou so much whoever and wherever you are.What an outrageous surprise!!! I'll keep my precious things in the box and we'll pig out on the chocolate and when my trainer sees that my ass has blown up to twice it's size after I've worked so fucking hard to reduce it,I'll send her over to your house where no doubt she'll start kicking yours!

Thursday 7th
Arnold Schwarzenegger running for Govenor of California?!?!? Are you kidding me?
I think I might bloody well stand for election.Why the hell not? In this current climate I might even get elected!! Ha ha ha haaa....that would be fantastic.For one ....I'd make it illegal for any man,woman or child to sport a mullet,use the word "panties" or eat a sandwich more then four fingers high.The gross ingestion of beef jerky would be outlawed entirely and grass not guns would be sold at your local supermarket.
Sang a guide vocal on "In my Happy Home" tonight and my voice sounded pretty lovely. No breaks or croaks.........just all pure signal.Thankgoodness it's back.I've missed it.

Saturday 9th
Woke up this morning to a glorious day and a new beginning.The sun was shining and life seemed pretty fine until I decided to look out of my bedroom window to discover that my entire window screen was teaming with a mass of box elder bugs...at least 100 of the things......... crawling around and fucking as if it were going out of fashion.It was SO disgusting.I mean...they're disgusting at the best of times but when they're fucking, I swear it makes you want to be sick.
Ps.My chiropracter is called Jay Lo and I'm NOT joking.
