Sang some great vocals on "Why Don't you COme Over" tonight if I do say so myself. It was SOOooo much fun as I had come up with a very strange break that I didn't think anyone else would like but they did and it felt good to take the song somewhere unexpected and new.Check out my tiny little ode to Robert Plant. Ha ha haaaa...........
Trying to drink a ton of water as I have a photo shoot tomorrow for Vanity Fair and I want my skin to look good but I've drunk so much now that I'm beginning to feel nauseous!!!! Ha haa haaa........I am such a fucking chump.
Went on a glorious hike this morning with two girlfriends and sweated dreadfully underneath my physician's approved sun hat and european sunscreen! I HATE being so white skinned. It's an absolute curse.I can't go anywhere without breaking out in hives unless I take a Claritin beforehand such is my hyper sensitivity to the sunshine.I'm not kidding.......it's AWFUL.
GOd I must be out of my mind! I set my alarm clock to 4:15 this morning so i could watch the US basketball team play against AUstralia.I crawled back to bed at 6:30 and didn't emerge from the bedroom until it was nearly noon. I'm beginning to worry myself.Am I obsessed?
Getting my life packed up into boxes and suitcases as Butch and I prepare to return to Madison to finish the record.Despite the weird little hovel I've been living in,I am sad to leave LA where I've had so much fun.I mean.........it's just been so great getting to hang out with all the friends I've made over the years who all live out here.
Had a very surreal experience yesterday when I bumped into Twiggy Ramirez whilst shopping for hair products at Larchmont Beauty Supplies (My most favourite shop in LA).I knew that he was no longer involved with my pops Marylin and that he now played for Perfect Circle but I hadn't seen him in years and needless to say I didn't recognise him at first without all the make-up but he was very serene and sweet and it makes a nice to change to meet someone who has managed to reign in the demons over the years rather than let them destroy their life.
Which brings me to another subject. When is Gwenalicious putting her new record out? I know it's sometime very soon and I swear I can't wait to hear it.The last time I saw her she was regalling me with some crazy stories about the making of it and I got very intriuged and excited for her.I hope this new record really explodes although of course I'm sure it will.In my books she's by far the best and most interesting pop star we've got and it's high time she claimed her glittering throne as pop queen of the world.
Talking of which.....finally got around to buying the Nellie Mckay record and although the record is not quite to my tastes and although it's all over the place stylistically which to my mind is a tad distracting (the listener never getting a real grip on any particular sense of her as an artist) her talent is dazzling and her writing ability just so sophisticated. I can't wait to see where she takes her career over the next few years. It's just so great to hear a female artist really take chances with intelligence and creative ambition.Very exciting indeed.
I mean the charts are so chock full of just completely average girls straight out of stage school who have absolutely no integrity whatsoever, who have no interest in being creative or smart or inventive. They are fueled solely by their hideous appetite for fame and fortune and being thought of as "pretty". Seems like that's the only accolade most girls seem to care about these days. Blame those silly so-called "Women's" magazines that are busy teaching our womenfolk to hate themselves, believing the answer to happiness lies in Prince Charming and plastic surgery.
